Meet Our Lead Educator:
Early Childhood Expert & Montessori-Inspired Teacher
Lauren Greene
An Unexpected U-Turn
In September 2022, I resigned as a Daycare Director to undergo surgery as part of breast cancer treatment. While recovering at home, I began teaching my 18-month-old son using the same play-based, Montessori-inspired methods I had successfully used with my daughter, who learned to read by kindergarten.
Montessori-Inspired Learning
Using Montessori-inspired methods and research-based child development strategies, I taught my son:
-
Shapes and colors
-
Numbers through 1000
-
Letter names and sounds
-
Reading short words
All by the age of 2! My style is relaxed, practical, and parent-friendly, and these methods are now shared with parents, teachers, and caregivers through You Can Teach Your Tot.
How It All Began
You Can Teach Your Tot was inspired by both my professional experience and my journey as a parent. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE), am Montessori-certified (Pre-Primary, ages 3–5), and have spent over 20 years working in early childhood education.
Professional & Personal Experience
As a Daycare Director, I nurtured both children and parents, designing effective educational programs and providing supportive services. Personally, I’ve taught my own children at home, combining professional knowledge with hands-on parenting experience.
